Getting The Most Out of Your GoPro with Accessories

GoPros are great action cameras, and the latest GoPro Fusion has some very unique features which will hopefully revive GoPro’s dying market share. If you’ve just shelled out money for a new GoPro Fusion, then no doubt you’ll be excited to check out some of its new features. Some of which include the new 360-degree camera and the ability to capture VR footage. However, there’s nothing worse than forking out your hard-earned bucks only to lose your camera because you didn’t buy the right accessories!

I’ve seen first-hand people lose their GoPro and hours upon hours of footage because they didn’t buy some simple accessories. For example, I was surfing with some friends in Indonesia and they decided to bring their GoPro with them to add to their travel footage. Now, we had to paddle about 20 minutes to get to the break, and had the GoPro loose on one of their boards! A rookie mistake! Holding and paddling a GoPro is never a good idea. The other friend saw he was struggling so wanted to take the GoPro and ease the burden. So, it got thrown to him! Of course, the throw missed and the ocean claimed the GoPro!

All this could have been avoided, if they’d just spent a bit more on some good GoPro accessories, such as a GoPro mouth mount, or a flotation device that would have saved them a lot of heartache and expense in having to buy a new camera. Mouth mounts are very effective in getting unique POV’s and often offer better footage than say mounted accessories on snowboards or surfboards. If you find it uncomfortable to use the mouth grip, then using a selfie stick or floatation handle, if you’re in the water, is probably a better option.

After that Indo trip, I decided that I will always use GoPro accessories for my own camera if I’m out in the water. The cost is really marginal in comparison to the peace of mind you get from knowing your footage won’t be lost!
